Dr. Sunil Mehra, MD (Paediatrics) from Banaras Hindu University, India has been a practising paediatrician for over three decades. Has founded MAMTA in 1990 and with his vision expanded its work to 12 states of India and neighboring countries of Bangladesh and Nepal.
Dr. Mehra has conceptualized, developed and provided technical inputs into numerous maternal newborn and child health projects and has contributed immensely to the policy and program dialogue in the country and the region. He has been part of many task forces and committees in India and globally. He continues to support formulation of strategies and interventions to address issues like adolescent reproductive and sexual health, maternal and child health, HIV and AIDS in the country and the region. A committed professional, Dr Mehra along with a few others has now conceptualized the 10K club to work towards ensuring right to health of children and adolescent.

She has around 14 years of experience in social development sector primarily working on communications for development, managing national and international projects, advocacy, networking and capacity building especially in context of young peoples’ Sexual and Reproductive Health. For past seven years, she has been extensively working on child marriage, a major violation of child rights and a key social determinant to young people’s sexual and reproductive health.

Tina Khanna is a Regional Manager (Research and Evaluation) at MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child. She conducts research and evaluation of HIV and sexual and reproductive health programmes. Before joining MAMTA, she worked with the International Centre for Research on Women and worked on various evaluation and research studies including gender based violence, child marriage, water, sanitation and health and gender responsive governance. Ms. Khanna has published technical reports and research publications in international peer reviewed journal and presented in international conferences. Ms. Khanna holds M.A in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University.

Leena Uppal has worked as a health rights advocate for the past eight years and supported different networks and coalitions working to address sexual and reproductive health and rights of the vulnerable populations in India. She holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from the Department of Social Work, New Delhi. She has assisted in coordination and evaluation of initiatives that focused on community and coalition building and advocacy including National Coalition Against Two-Child Norm and Coercive Population Policies and Coalition on Maternal Neonatal Health and Safe Abortion. The primary focus of her work has been on designing and implementation of community engagement programmes and community change initiatives. She is currently the core team member of Alliance Centre on Adolescent Health and SRH-HIV Integration, hosted within MAMTA.
