In Rajasthan, MAMTA has its presence since 2002 and has implemented different programmes on Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition, Sexual and Reproductive Health, TB, HIV/AIDS, Child Protection and Child Marriage, Tobacco Control and Quality of Care in Family Planning. MAMTA Rajasthan is the core member of ARC (Advocating Reproductive Choices) network, which is an alliance initiated by PSI & PFI to build advocacy with Government, UN Agencies, partners & donors for Family planning and reproductive choices and CoARE (Coalition of Adolescents Rights & Empowerment), an alliance initiated by Save The Children for sharing of best practices and learning of other agencies with respect to adolescent issues.
Presently, MAMTA has ongoing projects in 11 districts of the State focusing on various themes such as enhancing access to quality TB care for vulnerable and marginalized populations; improving maternal health through safe delivery; accelerating uptake of health services by improving continuum of care on health, nutrition and hygiene practices amongst adolescents, young couples, pregnant and lactating women; improved maternal health during preconception, intra-partum and post-partum period through family- centric safe motherhood approach among marginalized young married couples in rural india; first time parenthood and applying gender and right based approach for enhanced ownership, accountability and transparency of local governance for improved RMNCH+A outcome.
Dr. Shachi Adesh Chaturvedi is the contact person at the State. She has around 17 years of progressive experience working with NGOs, Government, Research and Academic Institutions on the issues related to Public Health, HIV/AIDS, Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health, Reproductive and Child Health, Community Development, Women Empowerment, Sanitation, Nutrition, and Social & Media Research. She has extended her professional services to various prestigious organizations i.e. European Commission, UN Agencies, PHFI, IIHMR, Goa Institute of Management, Don Bosco College, AIDS Control Societies, Care India, BBC etc. She has worked in close collaboration with various government departments i.e. Health, ICDS, Women Commission etc.

MAMTA started its intervention in the state in 2005. MAMTA’s office was established in Chandigarh as a Regional Resource Centre to build capacity of MNGOs/SNGOs and district based field NGOs to work in partnership with State, District and Block level Government Health facilities in providing healthcare services especially to marginalized and underserved sections of society. The project is supported by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and is being implemented 22 districts of Punjab and 21 districts of Haryana are administered by the Chandigarh office.

MAMTA-HIMC (UTTAR PRADESH)

MAMTA has started working in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the year 1999. Since then, MAMTA has made its presence visible in 63 districts of Uttar Pradesh through high impact project implementation, training & Capacity Building, advocacy and technical support in thematic areas of Adolescents’ health and development, Reproductive Maternal, New born & Child Health, Nutrition and Communicable Diseases. Presently, MAMTA has multiple ongoing projects in 51 districts of the state. MAMTA is a members of Health Partner’s Forum (HPF) constituted by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Uttar Pradesh. MAMTA is the lead partner of Technical Support Group (TSG) on Adolescent Health, member of Technical Support Group Maternal Child Health (MCH), Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) and Community Processes (CP) as sub-Group of HPF constituted under National Health Mission in the state. MAMTA also works towards Corporate Social Responsibility programme for lead corporate houses in the state of UP, other parts of country and outside. Recently, MAMTA, in collaboration with two prominent medical Health Universities- Banaras Hindu University and King George’s Medical University and NHM, UP has established two Centre of Excellence for Adolescent health and Development (CoE AHD) for Adolescents’ which is one of the first initiative in the country. Shubhra Trivedi, joined as State Team Leader (Deputy Director) for Uttar Pradesh. She is development professional having two decades of experience in the state of Uttar Pradesh, She has been associated with renowned National and International organizations like PSI, CARE, SIFPSA and WHO. Shubhra has diverse professional experience in maternal and child health, Immunization, nutrition, local self-governance, Family planning Non-communicable disease and Communicable diseases. Her area of expertise is large scale program management, advocacy, behaviour change communication, and capacity building. She holds master’s Degree in Social Work and Post graduate diploma in Business Administration as well she is Law graduate. This makes her perfect blend of development professional having edge of right based approach, efficient manager and transformational leader. Her last assignment was with PSI in the capacity of General Manager Programs where she championed in engaging private health care providers in family planning and NCD as well technical support to National Health mission and Government of UP in scaling up innovations and best practice. She has been active member Health Partners Forum and Task group on Family Planning, NCD and IEC BCC constituted by National Health mission Uttar Pradesh. Availability of quality health services as a right to most vulnerable person in society is her driving force to be part of development sector. She is given the responsibility of State Team Leader (UP) and shall function under the guidelines of the same.

MAMTA-HIMC is working and supporting the state of Maharashtra in complementing and supplementing its efforts in the provision of quality health care services to the people since 2003. In 2003 MAMTA had started its work in Maharashtra through establishment of a state level network of 16 Civil Society Organizations from 12 districts. The network known as Sexual and Reproductive Joint Action Network (SRIJAN) worked till 2010 towards advocacy on young people’s reproductive and sexual health in Gender and Rights perspectives. In 2007, the organization established its Regional Office for Maharashtra at Nagpur. Through its anti TB (Global Fund supported initiatives) project “AXSHYA”, implemented in 6 districts. In project “WISH/CHAHA”, a large-scale care & support programme for children, families and communities affected by HIV/AIDS, with the support from the Global Fund. Through Koshish project, MAMTA worked with the local small CSOs of 12 districts of Maharashtra on improving Sexual and Reproductive Health of key population. In Project ‘Preventing Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) MAMTA covered Nagpur in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (Wardha). At present MAMTA is implementing project Jagriti (supported by Nestle India) and PAN India project (supported by Philips India) on improving Maternal, New-born, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A). MAMTA has a state office based in Nagpur and field operations are managed by the state team headed by State Lead Dr. Ali Jafar Naqvi, who has an experience of more than 17 years in Public Health sector. The finance and HR teams, based at headquarters in Delhi provides the required support to the state team in all administrative, financial and human resources matters.
Dr. Ali Jafar Naqvi is a Medical Doctor with Masters in Public Health, MBA and MA (Sociology) with more than 17 years of working experience on Public Health issues. The beginning of his journey in public sector started with Social Mobilisation Network (a UNICEF initiative) for eradication of Polio. Eventually he got the responsibility to lead the divisional team as SRC. He worked as SRC for Meerut and Agra Divisions where he was used to manage a team of more than 500 members of SMNet. He always used to maintain a very good rapport with Government and Non-Government counterparts and other stakeholders. He was also actively engaged in M&E and Training of Trainers. He was a member of Divisional Task Force team headed by the Commissioner. Post UNICEF he joined leading research organisation FactInDepthIndia as Technical Director where he provided the technical support to the research team conducting different research projects. Among various other research projects the most notable was DLHS-4 for Gujarat and J&K. His association with MAMTA is since 2015. He joined MAMTA as the lead for Axshya project for Rajasthan and Delhi. In 2016 he was given the responsibility of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh and joined MAMTA Nagpur office as Medical Coordinator for Axshya Project. Since Jan 2018, Dr. Ali Jafar Naqvi is the State Lead for Maharashtra, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. He has a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has experience in working different geographies of India, working in projects with Government, UN agencies, local and international NGOs and autonomous bodies, etc. The thematic areas being – Maternal and Child health, Child immunization, family planning, sexual and reproductive health of women and adolescent girls, health delivery systems, HIV/AIDS, child rights, child protection, child sexual abuse and , water and sanitation, Gender, nutrition and Communication. His core skills include program management, micro planning, monitoring & evaluation, Data analysis, capacity building and networking.

MAMTA-HIMC (BIHAR)

MAMTA has started working in the state of Bihar in the year 2000. Since then, MAMTA has made its presence visible in 12 districts of Bihar through high impact project implementation, training & Capacity Building, advocacy and technical support in thematic areas of Adolescents’ health and development, Reproductive Maternal, New born & Child Health, Nutrition and Communicable Diseases. Presently, MAMTA has multiple ongoing projects in 16 districts of the state. MAMTA is a members of SRIJAN partners forum (Supported by RFSU and Sida) of Bihar and were involved in trainings with support of government, national and international organisations at the state and district level. Bihar Network has approximately 400 trained peer educators who have acquired not only issue based trainings but also on use of entertainment medium for spreading YRSHR messages like puppetry, innovative games etc. There are 52 Youth Information Centers (YICs) or drop-in-centres across 18 districts to mobilize young people and provide them correct and scientific information on health and development. Besides this MAMTA is also a member of State Health Society to Implement RKSK program in 10 High priority district of Bihar. The various program implemented by MAMTA since year 2000 were on; Coordinated HIV/AIDS Response through Capacity Building and Awareness, Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) of HIV through Safe Motherhood & Child Survival, Paediatric HIV/AIDS Initiative – Care & Support Programme for Children living with HIV/AIDS, Technical Resource Institute for the roll out of Link Workers Scheme (LWs) in Bihar, Strengthening civil society involvement in TB Care and Control, Improving Reproductive and Sexual Health of Young People by Influencing Age at Marriage, Strengthening of Community Based Mechanism for enhancing Maternal and Child Health and Strengthening Collective Response of the Government to End Child Marriage through District Level Convergence Approach. MAMTA –HIMC in Bihar also works towards Corporate Social Responsibility programme for lead corporate houses in the state of Bihar, other parts of country and outside. He has more than 14 years of experience in conceptualization, design, implementation and evaluation of Public Health projects for, UN agencies, international organizations and autonomous bodies. Mr. Brijendra Narain Choudhary is a Health and Hospital Management expert with more than 14 years of experience in conceptualization, design, implementation and evaluation of various programmes. he has experience in working different geographies of India, working with projects by Government of Bihar, India, UN agencies, local and international NGOs and autonomous bodies, etc. The thematic areas being – Maternal and Child health, Nutrition, family planning, sexual and reproductive health of women and adolescent girls, HIV/AIDS, child rights, child protection, child sexual abuse, Gender, Education, Communication, capacity building, BCC development, project monitoring and evaluation. He has been a part of Project planning and communication Aid development work, coordinating studies of varied nature including longitudinal surveys, baseline surveys, assessment of strategies and programmes, situational analysis and involved in preparation of action plans and strategy formulation. MAMTA initiated its work in Odisha in year 2006 with a survey on "National AIDS Control Programme". As MAMTA's work expanded in whole state of Odisha MAMTA has set its footprints in the year 2015 as the ‘Technical Partner’ of Plan International for implementation of AHANA project in 11 districts with the objective of building capacity of peripheral workers, so that upon completion of the program these trained resources can be used to build capacities of their fellow mates and Front Line Workers (FLWs). Two key projects-‘Project Jagriti’, supported by the corporate house and a ‘Framework of Action on working with Adolescents in Odisha ’supported by UNICEF is being implemented now in selected districts. Jagriti aims at improving the nutritional status of children under-five years through effective community based approaches at all levels of prevention of malnutrition. Similarly, the UNICEF supported project aimed at building and enhancing the capacity of stakeholders (NSS, NYKS, NGO, Scout and Guide) to engage with adolescents and setting up a state level multi-sectoral taskforce comprising of government and non-government partners. It also works closely towards CSR programme and also liasoning with different fraternities like academia, civil society organizations, government bodies and media personnel in the State. Over the period of time MAMTA has made its presence visible in most of the districts of Odisha through high impact project implementation, training and capacity building, advocacy and technical support in thematic areas of Adolescents’ Health and Development, Reproductive Maternal, New born and Child Health and Nutrition. The Contact person for the State is Dr. Surendra Jena. Dr. Surendra Jena, a Doctorate (Ph D) in Social Anthropology from Delhi University. He is a Social Development /Program Management professional and 17+ years of extensive experiences in Program Management, Coordination, Training, Research and Documentation, Networking and Advocacy, Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) and Community processes and Information Dissemination in collaboration with national and international agencies. His work experiences includes managing and coordinating varied projects like Maternal and Child Health, Adolescent Health, Nutrition, Decentralized Planning and Local self - governance, Social Accountability, Livelihood, Disaster Responses - providing services to the marginalized communities, management and rendering technical support to the Government in the geographical locale of Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
